Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata and Sir Dorabji Tata created the Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO) on August 26, 1907. As a division of Jamsetji’s Tata Group, TISCO began manufacturing pig iron in 1911 and steel in 1912.
On February 16th, 1912, a steel ingot was produced for the first time. The business advanced quickly during the First World War (1914–1918).
